Two-suited hands

Two-suited hands, usually 5-5 or 6-5 shape, deserve particular consideration at all points in the auction.

In recent years conventional two-suited overcalls which show both suits with one bid have become particularly popular.

These are indeed powerful weapons if used wisely and with just a little restraint on occasion, but there is no rush to take one of these conventions on board.

Quite a few of those who have chosen to follow the conventional route appear to have forgotten that there were ways of dealing with such hands before the conventions were invented.
